Trust & Ethics
Our principles on academic integrity, Socratic pedagogy, transparency, and responsible AI practices in education.
At Juunio, we believe artificial intelligence holds transformative potential for education—when guided by uncompromising ethical standards. Our platform is intentionally designed to augment human intellect, foster deep conceptual understanding, and reinforce academic honesty.
Technology in education must never be a shortcut to bypass cognitive effort. This charter outlines our core pedagogical philosophy, strict stance on academic integrity, algorithmic transparency, and responsible data ethics.
1. Core Philosophy: Socratic Mentorship
Juunio is architected from the ground up as a Socratic mentor, not an automated answer generator. Our agent does not simply hand out direct solutions or write essays for students to copy and paste.
Instead, Juunio provides guided cognitive scaffolding. By asking diagnostic questions, isolating root misconceptions, and offering intuitive analogies, the platform challenges students to apply first principles and solve problems through their own critical thinking. True academic mastery is earned through active mental effort, and our AI systems are strictly calibrated to preserve that struggle.
2. Academic Integrity & Anti-Dishonesty Policy
We maintain a strict, zero-tolerance policy against academic dishonesty, plagiarism, cheating, and unauthorized assistance. When utilizing Juunio, all users must adhere to the following standards:
- No Automated Assignment Completion: Juunio must never be used to draft, generate, or complete graded homework, term papers, dissertations, or take-home assessments on your behalf.
- No Exam Interference: Using Juunio during live examinations, standardized tests, or unproctored quizzes where external aids are prohibited by your institution is strictly forbidden.
- Compliance with Institutional Honor Codes: Students are solely responsible for understanding and upholding the specific AI usage guidelines, citation policies, and honor codes established by their schools, colleges, and examination boards.
We actively refine our guardrails and system prompts to refuse requests that explicitly seek unearned answers, essay ghostwriting, or unethical academic bypasses.
3. AI Transparency, Accuracy & Limitations
Large Language Models (LLMs) are probabilistic systems capable of extraordinary synthesis, but they are not infallible. We are committed to complete transparency regarding their technical limitations:
- Hallucinations & Inaccuracies: Generative models can occasionally produce plausible-sounding yet factually incorrect statements, outdated scientific data, or miscalculated numerical figures (known as "hallucinations").
- Duty of Independent Verification: Users bear final responsibility for verifying all generated explanations, mathematical derivations, historical dates, and syllabus deadlines against authoritative primary sources, course textbooks, and official professor announcements.
- Contextual Grounding: Juunio mitigates hallucinations by prioritizing direct textual grounding from user-uploaded syllabus documents, lecture slides, and explicit course materials whenever available.
4. Responsible & Ethical Data Handling
Learners trust Juunio with their academic materials, syllabi, notes, and study schedules. We safeguard this trust through strict data governance:
- We do not sell user data, personal profiles, or uploaded academic documents to third parties or advertising networks.
- Our commercial API agreements with foundation AI providers prohibit the use of your prompts, uploaded syllabi, and conversation transcripts for training public models.
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using enterprise-grade cryptographic standards.
- Users retain absolute ownership over their study records and may permanently delete files or accounts at any time.
5. Collaboration with Educators & Institutions
We view educators and academic institutions as vital partners in the future of learning. AI should never replace human mentorship, classroom debate, or inspired teaching. We actively welcome feedback from professors, teachers, and academic bodies to continuously improve our Socratic guardrails and ensure our platform remains a constructive force in global education.
